No snowbunnies for Easter

Since we received a good 10 inches of snow yesterday, I thought it'd be fun to make a SnowBunny with Porter for Easter. We still haven't made a snowman this year, and who knows if we'll get another dump of snow (but... knowing Michigan we will... probably in June haha!)

So, this morning I spent half an hour getting both of us ready to go outside. I wore Ryan's ski pants which still didn't fit around the waist so I left them unbuttoned. Putting my boots on and tucking them in the ski pants was quite a marathon. By the time we were ready to go out I was tired and sweaty and in a foul mood, mumbling under my breath how I hate playing in the snow and hate going outside in the winter. I also wanted to take a few pictures, and I wanted to be included in one. Since Ryan was at work I knew I'd need my tripod. So, along with Porter and I and all our snowgear, I hauled out my camera and tripod as well.

We get outside, I set up the tripod and begin to help P make a snowball. And the snow just flutters here and there. Of COURSE its not good packing snow. Of COURSE! So, we were unable to make a SnowBunny for Easter. (but, of course, now that its afternoon the snow is a little damper and better for packing. I am NOT about to go out again today. Ick!)

I did manage to take a few pictures of us.

Anyhow, since we were outside and bundled up in snowgear already, I decided to clean the snow off my car and then decided to shovel the porch, steps and walkway to my car so that I'd be all ready to go for my session this afternoon. By the time Porter and I got inside I was exhausted. My back and legs and feet hurt and I was sweaty and out of breath. I just laid on the floor and Porter kept asking "What wrong, mommy? What wrong?" I told him my back hurt.

(A little bit later I see him go to the middle of the living room floor, dramatically lay down, holding his back and say "My back hurt!" And then he lay there, flat on his back, staring at the ceiling. Dork. )

  1. Sorry you guys didn't get to make a snowbunny! But I am sure Porter had fun just playing in the snow!

  2. Getting ready for the snow adventure almost always ruins the snow adventure for me - at least you were able to turn it around and have some fun too!

  3. I think I have like two pictures of Grace and I because I am also always the one taking the pictures. She;s going to look back at them and be like, "Uh, did dad raise me by himself?"

You should have set up a video camera. I bet you attempting to make a snowbunny in your condition was pretty funny :)
