{30 Days of 30} Day 4: Your Favorite Book

Your Favorite Book

I miss the days of being able to read, and to get lost in a book and finish within a day or two (or even hours!!).  As a teen I used to rent 5-10 books at a time from the library and I looooved to read.  LOVED IT.  I find that lately I don't get into books as deeply as I used to, and I either don't have the time to read or don't set aside the time to read.

I try to keep up at Shelfari (here's my bookshelf!), but I find that I have started many books but not completely finished them.

Back to the subject... My Favorite Book.  Again, this is a lot like movies for me.  I read a book and may looove it but soon forget and it slips my mind.  I do have one book I have read over and over.
Summer Sisters, by Judy Blume.  I received this book years ago from my SIL and used to read it every single summer.  Though I haven't read it in years, I'd say this is still one of my favorites.

I also loved The Nanny Diaries and Me & Emma.  Those two definitely stick out in my mind though it has been a good 6+ years since I've read them.

In the past few years it seems like I've been absorbed in parenting books and self-help reading.  One of my favorite parenting books is Momfulness.  I love love love this.  It is so inspirational and I've read it twice.  I recommend it to any mom.

{30 Days of 30} Day 3: Your Favorite TV Program

Your Favorite TV Program
I have more than one favorite... for many reasons.

Parenthood.  I started watching this in the 3rd season, but caught up via Hulu.  I am hooked.  I love the close knit family and how they get together to celebrate all the simple things in each others lives.  I love how involved they are and how they are all so close, regardless of what issues may come between them.

Grey's is another show I didn't start watching until later- season 6 I think!  I caught up via DVD's and Netflix.  Again, totally hooked.  I miss Izzy, though.  She was my favorite character. Loved her.
Revenge is just in its 1st season, and I'm not sure how they'll keep it going.  However, I love watching each week and there is always some sort of suspense and crazy drama going on!

Talk about drama... hehehe!  I have watched all of the RHW cities except Atlanta (though I watched a few).  I started watching RHW of Orange County when Porter was an infant- Katie and I used to get together to watch it on DVR.  We were addicts!  I loved when they started adding new cities- NYC, New Jersey and Beverly Hills.  I think one of my favorites was the first few seasons of NYC (when Bethenny was on it.... God I loved her and her one-liners!) and New Jersey- OOOH the drama!  Always drama!

{30 Days of 30} Day 2: Your Favorite Movie

Your Favorite Movie

I very rarely remember movies as "favorites"... I like movies but once I see them they rarely stick in my mind.  I also hardly ever watch movies twice.   Even though I may see a movie and just LOVE it, I don't often think to watch it again.

I really can't think of a movie I call "my favorite", but off the top of my head I remembered loving these two.

The Blind Side made me teary.  It made me want to adopt a poor, inner-city teen and change their life.  Such an awesome story.

Salt was a movie I had not even heard of but Ryan rented it.  The movie had an awesome twist at the end and I really enjoyed it!

{30 Days of 30} Day 1: Your Favorite Song

Your Favorite Song

My favorite song changes by the season... though I love anything by Coldplay, Christina Perri, The Fray and Jack Johnson.  I can't choose just one.  I just can't.

If I had to choose my favorite for TODAY, it would be Christina Perri's "A Thousand Years."  I know, I just blogged this yesterday.

Another all-time-favorite is Rob Thomas "These Little Wonders "(hence blog banner).  This song reminds me of 2008 and always will.

Other favorites:
Jason Mraz- Details in the Fabric
Coldplay:  The Scientist, Christmas Lights, Yellow, Fix You
Jack Johnson: Cocoon, Dreams be Dreams, Holes to Heaven, Gone, Fortunate Fool,
David Crowder Band:  All That I Can Say
Florence + The Machine:  Shake Shake Shake It Out
NeedToBreathe: Lay Em Down

Oh so many favorites.
