Trying to recover from a bad day

Rough night last night...

Went to bed at 11:30
Porter woke me up at 12:30- he had to go pee
Ry's alarm clock went off randomly at 4am. Woke Porter up. He says "My timer went off! Its time to get up!)
Spent awhile getting him back to bed (which involved lots of irritated, sleep deprived yelling on my part)
at 4:30 Hudson woke up and had peed through his sheets... had to change those.
Just as I'd dozed off again I hear Ryan's alarm clock going off.

I think I got a total of 3 hours of sleep last night. I felt like I had a hangover this morning.

I ended up going home at lunchtime and attempting to nap with the boys. Which didn't go that smoothly but I did manage an hour of good sleep.

I am now up and attempting to clean my house. Its a pig sty, we have laundry, dust, dishes and dirty floors up the wazoo.

Speaking of floors... I'm on the hunt for a good cleaner to get out pee smells from carpet... I think my little stinker niece left a puddle in our playroom (on the new carpet! GAH!). There has to be a good cleaner to get rid of pee smell... I've tried the orange/citrus cleaner that my grandma uses but I can still smell pee. Have any of you found anything that works good? Ryan is going to go to the pet store to see if they have anything for animal urine (I think awhile back when our dogs were puppies we used Natures Miracle or something like that?). The whole blog-world has to have some solution for me... Vinegar? Pine sol? Baking soda?

  1. Since it was probably my darling child that left her mark, I figured I at least owed you a suggestion. You know how much of this I go through at home, and the thing that's worked best for us for the smell, is "Oxy Deep with Woolite" (spray). I'm so sorry. :(

I would try the baking soda. It definitely works with puke. :)

  3. Ugh, I can totally commiserate with that hungover sleep deprived feeling. :(

As for the pee smell, every time my dogs go to Animal Camp, Lola pees her dog bed. The only thing I have found to get the pee smell out is vinegar. It seriously works! Maybe dilute some vinegar with water and wash the carpet with that. Then, go over it with regular carpet cleaner.

For the pee smell - - Its gonna sound funny but in the pet section at the store, there are spray that remove the "urine" smell. It works. I cant remember what its called but its in a while spray bottle and has a pictures of a dog and a cat on it.

  7. We use the pet stain stuff by Bissell- it's a spray. We then have to use the pet odor powder stuff from Arm and Hammer- you sprinkle it on, wait 15 minutes, and then vacuum it up. I don't know if that pee smell ever goes away, but I try to mask it the best I can (my dog goes on the stairs, it's awesome). I also Febreze the stairs after completing the above cleaning routine :)

  8. The no sleep thing makes days rough! I haven't had a full night's sleep in weeks. You would think it is because of my 22 month old. Nope, that would be my tossing and turning, weird noise making, turning lights on at 2 am when he comes to bed husband!!
