Slow down!

I swear, I feel like I'm going 80mph and my brakes don't work.

I have turned into an ultimate procrastinator... my to do list is pages long. But, I guess spending the past few months back to work full time and having Ryan gone most evenings on top of having two kids under 2.5 will do it. (I hear ya, Nicole....) I literally did not start serious Christmas shopping until.... 11 days before Christmas.... and I only started then because LeeAnn mentioned it was ONLY 11 days until Christmas. I seriously thought I had like a month left and up until then had just dawdled at buying gifts. What the hell... get with it!

So anyhow, luckily I had already picked up some gifts for the nieces as well as the boys, so my list wasn't too awful. However, I feel like I always start out thinking ahead of time how I'm going to have these really thoughtful gifts and do really nice unexpected things for people around the holidays but then I find myself running around like a cat on crack and all my good intentions are out the window. This year I had intentions of making yummy oreo truffles and taking them to the "easily forgotten" people like the janitors at work and Doug the sweet, old cart guy at Target (Yep... we're on first name basis HAHA!).

I am happy to say that I'm pretty much done with Christmas shopping. And most of it is wrapped.... thanks to staying up until 1am the last few nights. Wish I had the life of my hubby... nothing better to do than watch sports, check fantasy-whatever-the-hell and then go to bed to saw logs (literally). No... not me... I'm up until wee hours of the night pecking away at my to-do list. Grr.

So the past few days I've had tons of ideas to blog about but no time or energy by the end of the night. Last night I fell asleep at 11pm on the chair after a marathon of gift wrapping.

I have been writing down blogging ideas, though!

Quick thought for the evening.... is anyone else obsessed with this type of sweater? I bought two of them (a brown and a charcoal gray) awhile back and love them paired with a long sleeve tee.... they're warm but since they're short sleeved they aren't TOO hot. I just bought a pretty burnt orange one the other day. I love how loose they are and they kind of hide that flabby baby pooch I've yet to attempt to get rid of. The button top sweater (what the hell do you call the style?) is quickly becoming my signature look. Cracks me up, though, as many of my third graders have the same sweater/long sleeve shirt look going on too HAHAHA! I'm sure they're like "Oh GAWD... I'm dressing like the TEACHER today... ewww!" LOL!

  3. You haven't known a REAL procrastinator until you've met me! haha... I won't be able to go Christmas shopping until Monday - how's that for last-minute? :P

  4. Oh I love that sweater!! The selection for cold weather clothes down here blows, and ended last night in me having a near meltdown in the dressing room at the store... I might be completely unoriginal and go to Kohl's when we get home and buy one. I haven't the time, money, or energy to clothes shop (the saggy pooch leads to depression) and that one looks like it would be nice to all three!

  5. Um, if it hide the saggy pooch, I gotta have one LOL Of course we don't have Kohls - WHAT??? Canada not have a store I need??? NOOOOO - it can't be! Crap, my daugher somehow got the phone - let's hope she didn't just dial 911. Or maybe if she did, that they will pick me up a Starbucks on the way!

  7. I love that sweater you posted about, so when I was at Kohls today I looked for it, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Do you order it online?

  10. Christmas just totally snuck up on everyone this year, I think. I haven't even gotten my Christmas cards yet so that should tell you where I'm at with shopping as well. (sigh)

Anyway, love that CUTE sweater. I need to see if my Kohls has any.
