Sorry to bore you non-photogs. But... here is my workflow. Please let me know what I can do to make things quicker!!
- Load RAW pictures to a folder on the computer.
- Rename Folder and transfer entire folde to my "Clients" Folder
- Convert all RAW files to DNG files
- Open CS2 and browse pictures in Bridge
- Skim over files, open those that catch my eye and do a quick exposure/color adjustment.
- Save as a JPG in the same folder.
- Do this x's 30 images.
- Go to the folder with JPGs and open them individually and edit in CS2, adjusting curves and sharpness etc.
- Save
- Crop
- Size/Watermark for Web.
AUUUUGH. I am able to get about 5-10 images edited per night. It is taking FOREVER.
maybe this won't help or you've already tried it, but it's worth a shot... I use a software called autoloader... basically you can select the files you want in bridge, and this program adds a menu item you select to load them in Photoshop. you hit a hot key (for me F12) and the first image is opened in PS for you. you do your editing and them hit F12 and the image is saved and the next one opened. so basically it's like a batch process but you only have one file open at a time so it's sooo much faster. you define where you want the files saved, and you have the option to define an action to run when it's first opened or right before it's saved. and if you need to stop editing for awhile you just come back later and hit F12 and it remembers where you were. anyway, I love this little thing... so worth the $$. I think I can prob find the video I watched on it, let me know if you want to check it out.
ReplyDeleteI totally hear ya! The only difference between yours & mine is I don't save mine as a DNG file (okay, dumb question, but why a DNG and then a JPEG?) Most of the reason mine takes so long is my computer is SO SLOW. If you come up with anything that speeds your workflow up, let me know and I'll do the same. In the meantime, just know I'm right there with ya. :)
