Preferences, please...

These are what I have to work with.....
I was planning on having Ryan cut off the top so it's square/flat. Like this:
This is the original idea I had: (same as above, only this is propped up. I kind of like the one above, hung on the wall)

But then I saw this message board:

Which style do you prefer?

  1. I like the first idea best... square top and no doors. :)

  2. I like the one where it can open but I also like the square top one....so I'm really no help! Can't wait to see what you choose and the finished project! :)

  3. I like the one with the doors that close, so that if you don't want to see what's displayed inside you can just close it all up. My second fave is the black one with the flat top. Cool idea!

  5. i like the message board area idea. you can close it up and hide the mess of things. squared off tops. and painted black. I think it goes better with your other decor.

  6. The first one in black. I do like the last one that opens up but I think that would take up a ton of room on a wall just for a message board.

  7. I like them both. Have Ryan cut off the tops & make them flat & still make them cabinet style!

  8. I like the simplicity of the first one. While the doors opening on the last one is really cool I think I'd just hide everything in there and lose the intention of the shutters in the first place!

  9. I like the message board hidden... in a cool color!

  10. I like option two. It seems like the items would fall through the slates in option one.

  11. i like the first one. if i'm putting stuff up on the board, it's because i want to show it off (like pics of the kids) or because i want to have something handy to look at (calendar)... we have our calendar, etc on the wall and i'm constantly looking over at it to see what's going on. so i'd never close the doors anyway and i think they'd just end up being a pain. why would you display something if you didn't want to see it, kwim?

  13. I like the first one. I think the closed message board one is a neat idea, but it might look a little weird when it is closed - just some shutters there on the wall.

  14. First off - that is a SUPER CUTE idea! I love them both but knowing me, I would like the closed off message board because let's face it...I know mine would never look cute like the one in the pic, it would just look messy. Either way though...it's super cute!

  15. Gos h it is so hard to write anything on this. Anyways I like the squared off ones. I just wonder about the closed ones---if you are gonna use them to keep track of notes, stuff to do asap, etc... would you want to open and close all of the time or just glance and see the stuff???
