Little Lambs

Porter's preschool had a little mini-program for all the classes to celebrate the end of the year.  They played a slideshow with pictures of all the kids and then each group of kids sang (M/W am and pm sang, and Tu/Th am and pm sang).

But first... let me back up a little bit.

Porter woke up really early today and was cranky all morning.  He's been phasing out naps altogether but today we knew he needed to sleep.  Well, it took him forever to finally go to sleep, so I decided to let him sleep later rather than wake him up from a short nap. 5:00 rolled around and I started to slowly wake him up (we needed to leave by 5:30).  He woke up in a fit.... mad at the world and cranky and crying over everything.  We managed to get him dressed (he didn't want to wear anything that was decent for a) an 80* day and b) a class program).  We picked up McNuggets on the way there and that seemed to ease him back to a normal attitude.

So... the program....

I had no idea it was an actual "program" with singing and certificates.  Seriously, the letter that came home said that there was an art display and an Open House with singing and refreshments.  It mentioned nothing of clothing attire, when to be there (as in.... if the kids should be there early... it simply said 6pm... and when we arrived the thing had started).  So, I had been asking Porter if he'd been practicing songs at school and he kept telling me no.   I asked him if he was going to be singing tonight and he told me no.

Well, he didn't lie....

He got up on stage with the other Mon/Wed kids and proceeded to pout the entire time.... big fat bottom lip out and all.  They sang 3 songs.... not one did Porter attempt to sing.  Aubri (who is in the Tu/Th class) was yelling at him "Porter!  Sing your songs... don't stand there all maaaaad!"  It was so funny.

And then Miss Angie handed out certificates and he wanted nothing to do with it.  What a little punk.

I did talk to her afterward and she said he had been singing with the other kids in class, so it wasn't that he refused to sing in class.  He was just in such a bad mood!  She laughed and said that she and Mrs. Briningstool had JUST been saying the day before, while putting up artwork, that Porter is so happy and always has a smile on his face.  And then he goes and pulls a Cranky Franky on us LOL!

  2. OMG! I cannot believe Mrs Briningstool is still there! I have pictures 'somewhere' of Emily when she was in Little Lambs and she is pouting on stage. There always has to be at least 1 or 2 little guys or gals that are having an off day :)
