Wow, I've heard of stalkers but they are usually males obsessed with females. It seems you have a crazy lady who is threatened by you and really can't handle her emotions. I would go private too. Heck, I'd drink a lot of wine to forget all the craziness. And that other issue, well that's enough to try and erase our names from the face of the earth. When LeeAnn told me the general story, I couldn't sleep and I checked on the kids every half hour, no joke. Sick, horrible and I feel soooo sad for that poor woman and her family. Some people just really don't deserve life.
Sorry you have all that drama in your life--you're better off to let it go and set a boundary.
I also worry about the stalking issue. I tried to be private and vague about our location in postings at first when my blog was open, but year after year, visiting the same landmarks and such I realized it's just not possible.
I also made a friend from a stranger who read my blog, and at first it creeped me out. She recognized pictures of our community centre, and then she saw me and my daughter at the drug store one day, then she emailed me to tell me about it because she felt so weird. I started reading her blog, and then we started having play dates, but still it could have gone another way, kWIM?
wow! some people just thrive on drama. it is just so not worth your time and energy nicole - you did the right thing for sure.
the whole stalker/crazy people lurking out there ... watching, reading everything - creeps me out. i can't imagine what your friend and probaby many others are going through. i really should think about doing the same. you can never be too safe.
I totally undersand wanting to protect your precious family! As far as your ex friend...this year I've been trying to focus on cutting the bull shit out of my life...friends included! Sounds like you have many great friends and don't need people like that!
There are always haters out there, I sure wouldn't take it personal...if not you they would be after someone else. It stinks you're the target but it sounds like you did the right thing by going private with your blog
What an awful situation! From experience I think you will see that friend wasn'tmuch of a friend anyway. You will miss things at first but the more you look back you will realize you were the one that was really keeping the friendship together.
I don't blame you for gong private!! In fact I just went private too. I Think an ex sister-in-law was stalking my blog--I am so happy that I did it. I feel 100%better about it. GOOD FOR YOU! And so sorry that some women have to be sooooooooo weird/crazy!
