- I was born in Texas and lived there until I was about 4
- Other than that, I've lived in Michigan my whole life
- While I hate the cold winters, I don't think I could ever move out of Michigan. I love my family too much and Michigan is just... home.
- To my knowledge I've moved 10 times in my life. I am pretty sure we've found "home" for a long time.
- When I was about 5, my favorite movie was Old Yeller. I watched it over and over.
- I also loved Lassie. I would cry at the end when the sappy music played and she lifted her paw. I have issues, I think.
- I used to write all sorts of animal stories when I was little. Every writing or art project at school had something to do with a cat, dog or horse.
- It probably won't surprise you to learn that I always wanted to be a vet when I grew up.
- I started on that path at MSU but failed Chemistry my first semester
- I took it again 2nd semester and got an A on my first test after studying my butt off. I went downhill from there and ended up with a C in the class
- I switched majors to Business/Accounting and then contemplated dropping out of college and going to Cosmetology school
- I ended up transferring to JCC and then to Spring Arbor University.... first majoring in Art and then once again changing my major to Education.
- I'm slightly indecisive about big decisions.
- I have a major sweet tooth.
- I don't necessarily think of myself as creative, but I love creating things.... scrapbooking, sewing, house projects, gardening, photography etc.
- Ryan always says I missed the "how to stack" day in kindergarten... I always just throw our Tupperware and pots/pans into their respective cabinets. Ryan always organizes them.
- I get the heebie jeebies thinking about touching cotton balls or walking in crunchy snow. EEEEK!
- It used to make me sad knowing that I'd probably never be able to afford to be a stay at home mom.
- Now that I'm a mom I'm not so sad about it... I think I'm a much better mom when I'm working away from home.
- I'm not a huge jewelry wearer. Know the saying "Diamonds are a girls best friend"? Well, it really doesn't apply to me.
- The only expensive jewelry I own is my wedding bands and diamond earrings that my mom gave me.
- When I had a psychic reading (palm reading) he laughed at my wedding ring. I retorted that I picked it out because I'm not into huge jewelry (my solitaire is 1/3ct and there are 4 diamonds on the sides of it).
- I don't really love flowers either. I like the sentiment, but typically feel that they're a waste of money- they just die in a few days.
- I don't think of myself as a neat freak but I get into these phases where I flip out at anything that is remotely out of place or dirty.
- I've always wanted 3 kids.
- When I had Porter I thought that if I could never conceive again I'd be happy with just one.
- Now that I have 2 kids, I can almost see us having 4 kids.
- I really want to adopt from China someday... maybe our 4th?
- I lived with ingrown toenails on my big toes for as long as I can remember.
- I've had toe surgery to remove the sides of my toenails and fix the ingrown toenail problem.
- If I'd known there was a surgery to fix constant ingrown toenails, I'd have done it a LONG time ago!
- I can't stand my fingernails to be long. I keep them clipped really short at all times.
- I love bokeh. It does such wonderful things for a picture.
- I can't stand when people talk and need to clear their throat. That gurgly, raspy sound makes my skin crawl!
