We looked at 3 houses today...
1) House was nice- needed some updating, but to get to the basement you had to go through the garage. Scratch that one.
2) House was nice, kitchen was kind of awkward. Gorgeous living room. But... no yard. Literally... it was a 5ft section along the back and side of the house. Scratch that one.
3) Went back to "H" house again. Took my mom and Ry's parents. They all gave it their approval and kept saying how perfect it would be for us. I took a ton of pictures and by the time we left, Ryan and I were in love and mentally moving in. We want to make an offer on the house but we have to wait for the appraisal and inspections to go through on our house. We're so nervous that someone else will put an offer in on "H" house. UGH! I'm hoping in the next week or so we'll be able to write an offer. Ry, my mom and grandpa think we should lowball the bank (thinking.. $30k less than the list price) but I'm so in love with the house I'm thinking... screw it, its already a good deal let's not take any chances! I don't know how all this will pan out. I hate all this stress. I guess all I can do is hope and pray that whatever the outcome is that I will be able to see that it is what is supposed to be.
So, I'm probably totally jinxing ourselves by posting this. I just can see how nice this house would be with some cleaning, some nice warm neutral paint colors and decorating! I know its been foreclosed for a few months... there was a note that it had been winterized in November (all water shut off etc), but I just got an email from the realtor on this house about a week ago... so it might be new on the market. Stress. Stress. Stress.
Cross your fingers for us.
Keep in mind, that email from the realtor could have been to 'help you along' to make a decision to sell your home & buy back into the market right away instead of wait it out @ your Mom's or renting while looking. They can be a little persuasive like that sometimes. Can't wait to see pictures of home H though, once the cats outta the bag. The lowball offer doesn't sound bad either, what's the worse they can say 'No' & then you go back @ the offering table again. They have a home they need to sell & you have a need to buy, it's a win-win situation.
ReplyDeleteGood luck Nicole. We've had an offer in on a foreclosure around here for 3 weeks. It's very frustrating. We're told that the bank selling the foreclosure can do whatever they want and take as long as they want to decide on the offers. We're continuing to look elsewhere but we both keep coming back to the foreclosure. We're really hoping to hear soon.
ReplyDeleteGood Luck!
good luck - the house looks super nice!
ReplyDeletewhen we bought we put an offer on the house wanted contingent on us selling ours, and that was SOOO stressful because we had a deadline on finding a buyer. which, as you know, seems IMPOSSIBLE and takes FOREVER. so, at least you already have a buyer! that's the biggest hurdle! and also, it's such a slow market right now that chances are probably pretty low someone else is going to want that same house at the exact time... with so much out there to choose from... so pretty much everything is on your side! i know, it's still nerve-wracking, but, hopefully you can write up that offer soon!
Hope you can get this house! Looking forward to seeing pictures as soon as you do find a new home!
ReplyDeletefingers crossed for you!
ReplyDeletefingers, toes, and legs (hahaha) are crossed for you! :)
ReplyDeleteHey Nic...whats the address? I love looking at houses for sale.
ReplyDeleteVery exciting! I hope everything happens pretty quickly for you. With the market the way it is you probably don't have to worry too much.
