Little Pike

I took Porter to swim lessons tonight and was so impressed with him! For some reason he had developed this weird fear being in pools... he clings onto you and is so afraid to let go. A complete 180* from a year and a half ago when we were in St. Louis and Orlando and he was jumping in, free fall, and going under water.

Porter wasn't quite as brave as Lukas, who you can see in the background of this first picture.... swimming around like a little fish all by himself! So cute.
The boys... ohh... boys.... here they are "butt bumping" eachother saying "POOT! I poot on you! POOT!" *sigh* The little girls in the class were giving Porter dirty looks when he tried to bump them. He thought it was funny. Them... not so much.

Afterward, we ran to Meijer to pick up milk, toilet paper and a "flushie".... Porter's favorite.

Please excuse the grainy, out of focus pics.... I had to crank up my ISO and shoot wide open to get enough light. However... I did shoot RAW (Jen...are you proud?) and am amazed at how much I could edit on the pictures. Once I get a decent workflow going for RAW processing, I am not sure I'll ever go back!

  1. Oh, I am SOOOOO proud of you! I can't even imagine the extra time I was spending editing jpg images vs. RAW. The batch synchronizing will make you smile, especially for white balance in bad lighting. Although, your jpg images are AMAZING!

  3. I would love to shoot RAW! Would someone be willing to do a tutorial on that!??! I am scared to try, since I have not idea what I am doing with it.

  4. I was gonna ask how much trouble you had shooting at the Y - their lighting is HORRIBLE.
RAW is such a miracle! I shoot in it whenever I can. I still don't have a very good workflow going with it, so if you find something good that works for you let me know. lol.
looks like so much fun :)
