That's a HUGE post... a lot to take in... especially for you!!!! Don't swallow too much change in one gulp... take it one step at a time and you 're much more likely to reach your goals... I feel like you're going through this year, what I did last year... on some levels.... and I will tell you, simplifying and slowing down was the best decision I have ever made. For me, it was going part time and so much more... you won't miss the money. Okay, maybe you will... but what you gain will be priceless. :-)
Some days I wonder if you and I are the same person! We have so many of the same issues and goals. We are overwhelmed people! I'm not ready to let go of the extra $$$ that photography brings in but some days I wish I could call it quits. But just when I get a break, I get bored so maybe it's for the best.
As far as the drugs, I just started mine and I asked if they would cause me to gain weight and the doc said no, so hopefully that's not why you are getting off of yours. I was where you are at last year, I weighed 140 pounds, I was unhappy with that and I refused to buy new pants. I am still working on my goal (got off track a bit) but I know that with a little determination you can do it. Exercise is not only great for the body, but it is great for the sanity!
And lastly, I didn't realize it was Leslie you were having issues with. I'm really sorry the two of you got lost in the friendship. That's a shame and I only hope that someday the two of you can figure out what went wrong.
First off, good for you for realizing what YOU need to be happy! I think a lot of us are putting photography on the back burner this year. I miss taking pics for me too & scrapbooking (isn't that how we met way back when...on SJ?)
As far as the weight thing goes, have you ever had your thyroid checked? I wasn't able to lose for a long time & finally realized my levels were low.
Anyway, good for you for taking the steps to simplify this year. I'm excited to see where this year takes you!
Nic, I hope that your New Year stays off on a more positive road. Sounds like you are working in the right direction :) It still baffles me about the whole Leslie-thing! My hope for you is that she comes to her senses with this other pack of persons & realize what a great group of friends she has neglected (and what a life-long friend she has hurt) and attempts to mend fences! As for the rest of her crew she has been around lately...you are an adorable, creative, whitty individual, of course the others are jealous & tried to emulate you & your life. Sorry, that just isn't possible!
As for the weight, ugh! I feel your pain! I refuse to but new clothes & am down to 1 pair of dress pants for work so they are washed frequently! aaagh!
Wow! Sorry I am just reading this (I have also learned since the babies were born that some things have to go, like reading blogs!)
I am so proud of you Nicole. It sounds like you are trying to really make some changes for YOU. You are essentially decluttering your mind, body, and environment. You will feel so much better!! But I agree with Nicki, one step at a time. Its not going to happen overnight so dont be too hard on yourself if things dont fall into place as quickly as you like. I am always here whatever you need chica.

There is a lot to be said for living more simply, decluttering one's mind and life. You can do it. One day at a time. :)
