Foote only has wireless in the little coffee shop in the lobby so I'm down here for a few minutes taking a break from the cramped little room we're in.
Porter is still on O2... not sure when they'll attempt to wean him off that. Soon, I hope... I want to go home tomorrow!! He's getting steroids and antibiotics and fluids still as well. They keep saying his lungs sound pretty good. He's acting a little more alert this evening and I actually got him to take about 3 bites of ham and mashed potatoes for dinner. That's about all he's eaten in the past 30 hours.
I have a few pics... you didn't think I'd go without now, did you? Poor little guy reminds me of an old man in the hospital gown and oxygen tubes.
He is in such good spirits, really. He's such a trooper. Whenever we move him he keeps telling ups "Watch out my cords!" When they put in his IV last night (err... this morning, technically, I suppose).... he was so upset and kept telling me "Take my hand off!" He is doing great, and we're trying hard to keep him entertained within our room. He's played with trucks and colored and added a ton of stickers to his sticker book.
Well, that's it for now. I'm going to surf blogs a little (I have 82 new blog posts in my Google Reader!) and then head back up to let Ryan go home. He's working tomorrow and I'm staying with Porter. Ry will take Wednesday and Thursday off work so I can go into work for at least 2 days this week.
Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers.
SHIT~ Ryan just called and they're putting another baby in our room. UGH. I'm sure we're in for a SPECTACULAR night.
I hope Porter is up and running soon, and that tonight goes smoothly. And I hope that you and Ryan are both able to avoid getting sick through all of this!
ReplyDeleteAwwww...poor little guy, he looks SO miserable, but it sounds like he's doing a great job being in the hospital! Hopefully, he'll be feeling better soon & can come home, I'll give you a call tomorrow and see how things are going.
ReplyDeletePoor little guy! I hope you can get some sleep with that other baby in the room. Thanks for the update and I hope you can get home soon. I'll keep Porter in my thoughts and prayers.

ReplyDeleteHope Porter continues to get better!! That picture with him and his daddy is too sweet...brought tears to my eyes...especially since I have one like it of my baby from October. Sucks you have to share a room, I can't imagine having to do that. Hoping you guys are released soon!

ReplyDeleteoh man. i'm so sorry you got a room mate. hopefully it wasn't one of jacktown's finest. he was so sweet yesterday when i came up. sorry i missed you. don't hesitate to call if you need anything!
ReplyDeleteNicole - I am so sorry! I have totally been there and it is no fun! I will pray for Porter and I will pray that you and Ryan don't get it!!!
ReplyDeleteUgh, poor P Man!!!!! That is so sad. You know we've been there and I'm feeling your pain. Nothing sucks more, seriously.
ReplyDeleteNext year you'll be joining the ranks of us paranoid RSV moms that never want to go through it again!
He'll start feeling ALOT better once the steriods stop too. They make their stomachs feel queasy so they don't want to eat. And once he's on the mend, he'll go CRAZY eating everything - it's bizarre, just to warn you!
Hang in there - hopefully it's more of a kid and less of a baby that joins you!!
Poor guy! I hope he gets feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteI hope Porter gets better soon and you can go home and get back to normal. Poor baby!

Lily had RSV and I know how hard that is----but to do that and everything else the little guy is fighting- WOW!!!
My thoughts and prayers are with you all!!! I hope he gets better quick so you can all go home and rest.
Give the little man lots of cuddles! Thinking of you.
Awww... Poor baby!!! I guess through all of this, you and Ryan are thankful that for the most part (bedsides the RSV and everything) P is a normal healthy active little boy! Wouldn't it be horrible to have to see hime like that all the time?
